We were recently pleased to acquire a large collection of works by Francis Farrer. These represent part painting, part autobiography and part social history. Through these incredibly detailed works the artist provides a detailed, charming and intimate storyboard of her life, and the lives of those around her, in the 60s and early 70s. Her incredibly accomplished style has something of Hockney to it and a bit of Modigliani and in parts verges on super-realism. How paintings of this quality can remain hidden for getting on for fifty years simply beggars imagination; it is a real privilege to have them pass through my hands. I can be pretty accurate in my dating as the whole collection span a relatively compact time span.
