An accomplished watercolour sketch of a heathland scene painted in (our estimate) the 60s by a C. Hughs (it looks like it has been relatively recently reframed, say, in the 80s).
I particularly admire the restrained use of colour which focusses our attention on the structure of the composition and the artist's attractively loose drawing technique.
A note on the reverse entitles this work 'Highwood, Winter'. (Highwood is a tiny village in Dorset near Dorchester.)
